Testimonials
Hear from some of our current team members on their experiences whilst employed here at Skibo.
Skibo is not only a magical place to stay, but a memorable place to work. The opportunities I have been given over the years have allowed me to develop my skills and knowledge to become a better manager in the future. I really enjoy the community atmosphere of the staff and even though I came from the other side of the world to work I was greeted with warm and friendly personalities that make settling into a new job that much easier. Working in such a fine establishment has enabled me to participate in world class training and development programmes which constantly challenge and motivate me to improve all aspects of my role.

When I started at Skibo as a switchboard operator, I had very little experience with computers. Over the years I have gained not only qualifications but people skills and confidence. Skibo has paid for me to do an SVQ 3 in Management and even a first aid course. I now work in the Reservations and Host departments and my skills continue to be improved. All the staff at Skibo are like a big family and with so many opportunities for development it's the best place to work.

From the moment I arrived at Skibo the standards of training have been excellent and I have gained much experience. I have already been trained in three product lines - Sodashi, Comfort Zone and Jane Iridale - as well as numerous treatments and am currently working towards a qualification in Reiki. Naturally I have been given the opportunity to work with therapists with impeccable standards and to exchange invaluable knowledge. Managers ensure we have interaction with other staff members within the castle through inductions, special occasion lunches, team building days and the occasional night out, of course. The whole experience of working here at Skibo is like no other and anyone who works here can only go onto bigger and greater things!!

I began work in May 2000 as a switchboard operator, new to the area with just my sister and Mother as companions. After only one shift I had been introduced to some of my, now, closest friends. The staff offer warmth and genuine friendship and we really are one big (and most of the time) happy family. I have been fortunate enough to work in several different areas from Marketing to Hosts, Food and Beverage to the Events Department, being promoted to the Members Events Manager in 2006. Skibo provides excellent training opportunities both in-house and off the estate, all of which have been beneficial in helping me to gain confidence personally and professionally.
